Class Description

All of Sam's classes are inspired by the pace, holds and variety of Hatha yoga but with a contemporary twist to the asana. They generally begin seated with guided grounding and centering, and vary in a different journey every time through 75-90mins of movement. Salute the Sun always includes a few rounds of Surya Namaskar, practiced in silence once everyone knows the sequence. All movement classes end in a good few minutes of conscious relaxation. There is an emphasis on awareness, of taking the entire being along for the physical journey - reminding us to practice presence. Move, Breathe, Meditate on Wednesday at 9am is a little different - extended to include half an hour of pranayama (Nadi Shodhana) and meditation (alternating between Ajapa Japa and Antar Mouna week to week). These more subtle practices take stillness to sit and work on the pranic, mental and emotional aspects of our being. Contact Sam to chat details.
